WHERE THE DEPTH OF THE OCEAN MEETS THE ART OF CRAFTSMANSHIP
Inspired by the mesmerising colours and endless movement of the ocean, the Pelikan Souverän M800
Indian Ocean captures the beauty of nature in an extraordinary writing instrument. Deep ocean blue
and vibrant golden yellow intertwine in an expressive, flowing pattern, evoking sunlight shimmering across
the surface of the sea and the mysterious depths beneath it.

Indian Ocean marks the beginning of a new journey for Pelikan. This new series invites you to discover the
beauty of the world’s oceans through exceptional writing instruments, each inspired by the distinctive character of a different ocean. Every two years, a new ocean will be revealed, creating an ongoing journey across the world’s waters and celebrating their diversity, beauty and mystery.

A MATERIAL AS UNIQUE AS THE OCEANS
At the heart of the Indian Ocean lies an exceptional acrylic material whose vibrant blue and golden yellow
composition creates remarkable depth and luminosity. Its flowing pattern evokes the movement of the sea,
while the individual composition of each piece ensures that every writing instrument has its own distinctive
character. No two patterns are exactly alike.

The material is finished with a brilliant polish that enhances its depth and allows the colours to interact
beautifully with the light. Depending on the individual colour composition and the way light moves across
the barrel, the piston mechanism may subtly reveal itself beneath the surface, like a hidden treasure
glimpsed beneath the sea. This delicate interplay of colour, transparency and light creates new details to
discover from every angle.

THE ART OF PRECISION
The exceptional material is carefully shaped and refined to reveal its full visual depth before being
transformed into the unmistakable silhouette of the Souverän M800. Pelikan’s renowned attention to
detail ensures a harmonious balance between the expressive material and the precise geometry of the
iconic writing instrument.

The Indian Ocean is equipped with an 18 carat gold nib, bringing the smooth and expressive writing experience associated with the Souverän M800. Its trim is finished with 24 carat gold plating, adding a warm and
luminous contrast to the deep ocean colours.

Exclusive to this edition, the cap and filling knob each feature a special single ring with a refi ned satin
fi nished surface. Crafted with a brass base and finished with high quality 24 carat gold plating, these
distinctive rings add a subtle tactile and visual sophistication to the Souverän® silhouette.
At its heart, the renowned Pelikan piston filling mechanism combines precision engineering with the
characteristic balance and presence of the M800, completing an exceptional writing experience.

A NEW JOURNEY ACROSS THE OCEANS
Indian Ocean is the first chapter in a new Pelikan series dedicated to the beauty of the world’s oceans.
Every two years, a new ocean will be revealed, with each edition translating the colours, atmosphere and
distinctive character of its destination into an exceptional writing instrument.

A new ocean. A new journey. A new expression of the beauty that lies beneath the surface.
The Pelikan Souverän M800 Indian Ocean opens this journey with a vibrant interpretation of the Indian
Ocean, bringing together colour, light, precision craftsmanship and the timeless character of the Souverän in a writing instrument made to inspire discovery.

At its heart is Pelikan's celebrated differentiated piston filling mechanism, first invented in 1929 and refined ever since. It gives the M800 a generous ink capacity and the satisfying ritual of filling from a bottle.
