Noodler's Ink is a small American company run by Nathan Tardif in Southern Massachusetts, USA. The Noodler's Ink Co. is best known for their massive range of colours, the unique and largely hand drawn bottle label artwork and unique properties of their inks. Nathan Tardif is best known for his political views and historical knowledge, which often spills over into the names and labels of his inks.
The name Noodler's comes from a technique of catching catfish by hand. Noodling involves wading into the water and feeling around for small crevasses and catching the catfish who have backed themselves inside by holding onto the outside edges of their open mouth. Nathan says it is the ultimate battle between man and beast and your bank balance and social standing have no bearing on your ability. The catfish can be seen on all the ink bottles packaging.
The glass bottles are simple and affordable and the cardboard boxes are recycled.

Noodlers 'Bulletrpoof' ink designed for use in fountain pens for writing and not for watercolour washes.
The top layer of the ink will be removed if you try to smudge it with a wet finger or a wet brush - we have a blog above which has a test of 7 Black inks and has a video showing any surface run off from this and 6 other inks.
The ink which is in direct contact with the paper will be permanent (due to a chemical reaction between the ink and paper) but any excess ink will be removed with water (call it 'ink-on-ink', rather than 'ink-on-paper' if you will)
This is why the ink is removable from hands, plastic, fabric, etc whereas traditonal permanent ink will not be and why Noodler's will not stain or damage your pen like old fashioned iron Gall Inks may.
N.B - The bottles are VERY full, so you get great value for money, so please be CAREFUL when opening the bottle.
Orders within the UK under a total value of £25 will incur a postage charge of either £1.99 for Royal Mail 2nd Class or £2.99 for Royal Mail 1st Class - you are given the choice at checkout. 1st Class is estimated to be 1-2 days and 2nd Class is estimated to be 3-5 days.
All orders of £25 and above will be delivered free of charge to any UK address. They will be either Royal Mail 2nd (if under £50 in value) Royal Mail 1st (if between £50 and £175) or Royal Mail Special Delivery (if over £175)
You will have the option to upgrade to Special Delivery if your order is under £175 at the checkout. Special Delivery is Next Day Guaranteed by 1pm, this excludes the weekends/bank holidays and is dependent on an item being in stock and ordered before 3pm. Orders made before 3pm Monday-Friday will generally be dispatched on the same day. Orders made after 3pm on Friday will be dispatched the following Monday.

You'll also have the option to use DHL for shipment by selecting it as checkout, the price will be £27.50 or £45 depending on whether you are Europe or Rest of World.
VAT and Currency
If you live in the UK, VAT at the current applicable rate is included in all product and shipping prices and is automatically calculated at the checkout stage. There should be two prices shown on our site - including and excluding VAT.
If only one price is showing, it will be the excluding VAT price. We have a hidden calculator to add VAT for UK customers on each page, but it may take a few seconds to load and display both prices.
If you live elsewhere, including the EU, no VAT will be charged on products or postage. The cost will be automatically calculated at checkout when you input your country.
All prices are shown in British pounds sterling (£) as standard, but you can select alternative currencies in the top menu. You can pay in your own currency and you will know exactly the price and not worry about bank charges or conversion rates adding any extra cost after payment.
We ship the majority of our orders via Royal Mail.
For deliveries in the UK, Royal Mail suggests 1-4 working days for parcels to arrive.
For deliveries in Europe, Royal Mail suggest 5-7 working days for parcels to arrive.
For deliveries to the Rest of the World, Royal Mail suggests up to 14 working days for parcels to arrive.
If you find that your order has taken longer than the suggested delivery time, before you contact us please ensure that you have checked with your local sorting office to see if they have your order. They will not always leave you a card to inform you that there is a parcel waiting for you, but you can generally call or visit with some identification and they can give you your parcel if it is there.
In the case that your order has been returned back to us because it was left unclaimed or the delivery address was wrong or incomplete, it will be the customers' responsibility to pay for rescheduled delivery.
An item has arrived damaged or is doesn’t work as it should.
Sadly, sometimes an item can get damaged in the post. If it is an obvious issue like a smashed bottle, please contact us and we can arrange remedying it for you with an aim to minimise the trouble for you. Sometimes, customers new to a product or pen can think there is an issue with a product and it is actually a misunderstanding of how it works – again, please contact us so we can help where we can in explaining or remedying the issue with as little disruption to you as we can.
I'd like to exchange a fountain pen nib for a different width.
Many fountain pens are available with several nib width options from the manufacturer and we try to offer width options wherever possible. If you are not convinced you have the right nib width for you, the manufacturer will generally be able to arrange a nib swap within 4 weeks of purchase as long as the nib is in saleable and undamaged condition – you can ink the pen to test it to be sure. We can provide you with the manufacturer’s contact details so you can arrange the exchange but if necessary, we can arrange it for you at a set charge of £10.
I've changed my mind and would like to return my order for a refund
If you decide you don’t want your items after all within 30 days of making the purchase, you can return them for a full refund as long as they are in saleable condition. Return postage will be at your expense.
If you have inked a fountain pen, you will need to discuss with us whether we can accept this back, but it is normally subject to a £10 cleaning fee.
You can include your name and order number along with a note explaining what you would like to do.
I would like to exchange an item or order.
This is not an issue. Send the item or order back to us along with your name, order number and what you want to exchange to. We aim to arrange exchanges within 2 working days of return and will be in touch to arrange additional payment if necessary. Refunds due to lower cost of replacement items can generally be done without us needing to contact you.
